“There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception.”

After reading any sentence, your interpretation of the meaning is based on your perception. Words remain the same only meanings change depending upon the different mind sets of different people.
Everything which is happening in this world is based on your perception of taking it.

This blog is about how you can change your perception and how a changed perspective of life can help you in a long run.

So let us begin our journey of transforming our old perceptions into new perceptions.

Positivity in thoughts

After waking up in the morning, what is your perception of the day? Today you will have a hard day at office, so many tasks to complete, the day will again be dull and tiring. This perception of your whole day will accumulate a sense of negativity in you which will by default create a dull and unproductive day. On the other hand a positive start of the day where your perception of having a productive day at work, of interacting with the best people at work, automatically positive feelings will be imbibed in you which will lead you in having a beautiful day ahead. Instilling the positivity in you is the first step in improving your perception towards life. Positivity can be instilled by practising meditation thus enhancing your spiritual energy which in turn improves your mindset positively.

Meditation 

Meditation is to relax your mind and to rejuvenate yourself through mindfulness and focus. It helps in the continuous flow of spiritual energy, deepens the focus, and provides mental clarity. Start with a 5-10 minutes of meditation daily and then increase its duration gradually. By regular practise you will get into self-realization and start understanding things from a broader perspective.

Yoga and Exercise

Health is wealth (Though an old concept but is the universal truth). When your mind and body is stable, you will be able to grow in all the other aspects. Yoga balances your physical, mental and spiritual; health. Without stressing your body much, get involved in the practise of regular yoga and exercises to keep you full of energy and vitality. It is very difficult for a stressed personality is to find peace in our or somebody else’s decisions thus will create an imbalance in our perceptions.

Concentrate on Abundance

Negative thoughts attract negative vibes. According to the Law of Attraction, what you think about the most is what you attract. So if you are thinking about your dull life, concentrating on your failures, your losses and the unmet needs then what you will attract is all that is lacking in your life. Rather focus on the positives, concentrate on the ways in which you will fill up the blanks in your life and always moving ahead without pausing and looking back at what you couldn’t do. It is the law of nature that your thoughts define your attitude towards life.

 

As is rightly said by Oprah Winfrey, “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough”

 

Brush aside the Misunderstandings

Misunderstandings spoil the atmosphere and pollute the minds. Sort out the things one to one in order to live in peace and harmony. For eg., Mr. B and Mr C are very good friends but due to some misunderstanding Mr. B stopped talking to Mr. C. Now this is when instead of clearing out the misunderstandings amongst themselves, Mr. C also stopped talking to Mr. B. Now seeing the attitude of each other towards each other the distance will keep growing and the best friends will turn into the best cold warriors. So the idea is, do not make perceptions. Somebody has to take that step of resolving the issues. Be that person.

Humility 

Having a down to earth attitude always will change our perception. Having more humbleness means we are more open to consume the opinions that are put by others, More humble towards people and their opinions. Our egoistic approach will never take us ahead in life.

An optimistic approach

Problems will not persist forever. They are momentary and get resolved. Optimism is needed to bring you out of a difficult situation because it will change your perspective of seeing the situations. It will help you to find the hidden truth behind certain happenings in your life. May be problems are there to make you stronger. Things will be realistic and there will be no clouds of exaggerations.

Thankfulness

Show your gratitude towards whatever good is happening in your life. It is because of this life that you are getting a chance to prove yourself. There is the existence of good and bad. Instead of just counting the holes in your life. Count the blessings. Look at those who have nothing in life but still are living and trying to be happy. Compare yourself with them and at least then thank God that he has given you abundance. Gratitude will show you the way towards building appositive perspective.

Finding Interconnectedness

A deep thinking is important to find the interconnections between all that is happening in life. Everything revolves in this circle of life. You need to join the connections. When you see or hear something, how you interpret the things matters. Interpretations come from your choices. Choices come from thoughts. Thoughts come from your awareness and all in turn will shape your perception. Your perception in turn will be reflected in your personality upon which the attitude of others is dependent.

 

According to Swami Vivekananda  “All knowledge must stand on perception of certain facts, and upon that we have to build our reasoning”

 

Contemplation

Stop. Observe. Perceive. Be thoughtful about your life. Give your existence another thought.

 

As David Hume beautifully quoted “Beauty is no quality in things themselves: It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them; and each mind perceives a different beauty.”

Acceptance 

Acceptance brings clarity. It helps you living efficiently and with a smile on your face even in the deficiencies of life. Accept others as they are. Accept the situations as they are. Work towards the resolutions. It will be helpful in improving your perception of life.

Believe in yourself

You are capable of making the impossible possible. There is nobody out there to defeat you except for you. Have confidence in yourself and know your capabilities or the weaker areas to work on for the betterment of life. You can bring the change and that is what has to be believed. This is important for developing a positive perspective.

Understand other’s perspective

As Rick Riordan said “Humans see what they want to see.” 

It is very important when you socialize. Looking at everything from your own point of view will not help. What you need to understand is that everything doesn’t revolve around you. Somebody else’s point of view also matters. Do not straight away rush to misjudgement and conclusions. It is just the matter of little empathy that you need to have within you in order to have a better perspective of things.

Do not lose hope

Wait a while. Stop! And understand how your failure is going to affect you? Is everything over or still there is some hope remaining? Can you change your fate? Can you still start it all over again? Nothing ends till you end it. So there is a hope which keeps it all alive and helps in transforming your negative perspective into a positive perspective.

Seeking Inspiration

Read good and positive books or thoughts. Books are the institutions in themselves. They teach you all that we want to learn. Inspiration is what is needed always to keep you going so do not hesitate if you are looking out for it. The only thing that you need to try for is to become the source of Inspiration for someone else.

Take responsibility

If you have been wrong somewhere, admit it and move on. Either forgive or ask for forgiveness. Stop the blame game because it will only keep you behind people. Because when you want to look out for the mistakes and deficiencies you have to be behind the things and people. Instead be ahead of them. Have a broader perspective of life and get out of these small talks. Think big and be bigger.

Removing psychological stress 

When you are emotionally disturbed there are a lot of changes which keep happening inside your body and mind. Slowly and gradually you will start having a negative perspective of life. Gloom all around. A stable and healthy mind is the secret of a positive perspective
